RBZ SIm racing league rules

Here you will find the rules governing RBZ Sim Racing Leagues. Click on the tab corresponding to the Team Racing Championship or Individual Championship.

  1. Team Size and composition
  • Teams will consist of 3 drivers
  • One Driver will be the manager of the team
  • Managers are responsible for ensuring that all drivers are accounted for each race. If they are missing a driver, managers are allowed to find a substitute driver or race with 2 drivers and take a penalty (to be discussed later) but Race Control must be notified at the beginning of each race night
  • If managers cannot find a 3rd driver before the season starts, they may be assigned a free agent driver who is not a part of a team.
  • Managers are allowed to bring any complaints, comments, or concerns to Race Control
  1. Race Day Check ins
  • Each Driver must check in with Race Control when they arrive. Here they will be assigned their Time slots, Rig assignments, and any other info that needs to be pushed out. Time slots are given on a first come first served basis. If you need a specific time, please reach out prior to the event via RBZ email.
  • All drivers will receive a Drivers Badge. The badge will have Driver Name, Team Name, and Rig assignment. This badge will be proof that they have checked in with Race Control. If writing gets wiped off or is illegible Race Control will correct it.
  • Once Drivers have checked in with Race Control, they may leave the event area but must be back 10 minutes before their scheduled time. If a racer is late to their slotted time they do not get the full session time. If a driver needs to switch time slots, either themselves or their team manager needs to contact Race Control.
  1. Race Day Events and Scoring
  • Each Driver will start their day with a 15-minute Hot Lap Session. During this time, they will make as many laps as they want within this time limit. There will be no adjusting of any car settings except the following, Traction Control, ABS, and Front/Rear brake balance.
  • This Hot Lap Session will not count towards any Team Point Standings. This will only count towards Individual Standing (see Individual Driver League Rules for more)
  • Once the Driver has completed their 15-minute Hot Lap Session, they will be required to take at least a 15-minute break before going to the next session.
  • The second session will be an approximately a 15-minute race against 9 AI controlled cars all set to a standard difficulty for all Drivers. Drivers will start in the 5th position for the race. Depending on finishing position will determine the number of points scored for your team. 1st = 10 points, 2nd = 9 points, 3rd = 8 points, 4th = 7 points, 5th = 6, points, 6th = 5 points 7th = 4 points, 8th = 3 points, 9th = 2 points, and 10th = 1 point.
  • All 3 Driver’s scores will be added together to get the total team score for that day.
  • At the end of the 8-week season, 6 of the 8 week point totals will be added to determine the winners. Teams will drop their 2 lowest week point totals.
  • In the event of an end of season points tie, the team with the most wins will be declared winner. If still tied, it will go to the most 2nd place finishes, then 3rd
  1. Drivers Missing Events
  • Drivers are allowed to miss events. The team has two options. They may recruit a substitute Driver, or they may race with 2 drivers and may still obtain points for the missing driver.
  • If choosing a substitute Driver, team managers must let Race Control know before their first driver races. This is to ensure proper tracking of scores and ensure that all liabilities forms have been signed. The substitute driver scores normally for the team that they are driving for, however they will not be allowed to post individual championship points for the driver they are substituting for.
  • If a team elects to race with 2 Drivers everything proceeds as normal. As for scoring, the average finishing position will be calculated, and the team will score what the average finish rounded down minus one position. So, if the average finish was 5.5 it would get rounded to down to average 5th place finish, then one spot down so they would score a 6th place finish.
  1. Rules May Change
  • For the inaugural season, the rules may need to be altered in order to ensure a level, competitive, and fun playing field for all Drivers.
  • The League will do everything to keep rule changes to a minimum. If you have questions, concerns, or improves please let us know!

  1. Race Day Events and Individual Championship Scoring
  • Individual scoring will take place during the Hot-Lap Session of the event.
  • Drivers will have a 15-minute Hot Lap session to put down the fastest time possible.
  • There will be no adjusting of any car settings except the following, Traction Control, ABS, and Front/Rear brake balance.
  • To fastest Driver will automatically score 1000 points and will be the baseline for all other Driver’s scores for that week. The following formula will be used to determine how many points are scored. Points = (Fastest Time ÷ Your Time) × 1000 rounded to the nearest whole number.
  • After the 8-week season you drop the two lowest scores and use the top 6 scores combined to determine the winner. In the event of a tie, the Driver with the Fastest Laps will win.
  1. Drivers Missing Events
  • If a driver misses an event, they will score a 0 for that week. This is eligible as a dropped score as discussed earlier.
  • There will be no substitute Drivers for individual point scoring.
